The injections will contain a small amount of lidocaine, a local anesthetic. Lidocaine helps numb the areas to any pain or discomfort for the duration of the treatment session. If your injection tolerance is low, you can ask for topical numbing cream to be applied beforehand.

Bruising, swelling, and redness near the injection site are common and will subside on their own in a matter of hours or days at the most. Avoid massaging the area, exercising, and heat/sun exposure for up to 24 hours to reduce the duration of these side effects.
